HTC One was a very well received smartphone device from the Taiwanese manufacturer, with its great build quality, rich and powerful Boom sound speakers, and gorgeous SLCD3 display garnering praise and acclaim from users and critics alike. And now, as the time approaches for its successor to take over, renowned twitter leaker @evleaks has outed preliminary specs for HTC M8, the purported replacement for HTC One.

All in all, HTC M8 is rumored to sport a 5 inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8974 (Snapdragon 800) chipset featuring a quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM. An UltraPixel rear facing primary camera of unknown resolution and a 2.1 megapixel front facing camera are present onboard. The device is supposed to run on Mountain View’s KitKat flavored Android operating system topped with the Taiwanese home-brewed Sense 6 UI overlay, which is yet to see the light of the day. Additionally, the very latest and fastest form of WLAN radio, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, is included in the device.

It is interesting to note that HTC One carried a model number of M7, so the M8 should very well be its successor.We had earlier reported about a previous leak, with a trio of images of the back of the device making the rounds of rumor land. It seems like HTC is having some trouble keeping its next flagship under wraps, but we are happy to lap-up any information we can find.
